Developing autonomous teams: the key to our success with QRM
Bart Tielen – Coordinator Continuous Improvement at Niko
In 2015, Niko started their QRM journey with just one cell in the Manual Assembly department. Now QRM is spreading slowly but surely. Niko soon realized that a purely technical approach would yield insufficient results. The development of autonomous teams was the real key to unlocking success. The teams in the Manual Assembly department reduced the lead time from 147 hours to just 26 hours. By doing so Niko has managed to lower stock without impacting the delivery reliability; they have even improved it!
Niko develops solutions that allow buildings to work better for everyone who lives and works in them. Niko is part of the Niko Group; the European reference for innovative, stylish and user-friendly electronic solutions and services. In 2018, the company has around 750 employees and is active in 10 European countries.
